This edition of the Art Week will include more than 100 events.
In the exhibition "The Allure of Stone," explore the ancient soul of stone reinterpreted from a contemporary perspective. MKAU Gallery presents the captivating works of Chinese artist Zachary Yin. This Chinese artist does not view stone as a material for carving, but rather as a raw canvas. Beyond traditional sculpture, he seeks out unique shale, appreciating its inherent structure, form, and texture, then directly applies his painting techniques to the surface of these natural shale rocks, following the philosophy of "Tao follows nature"—following the way of nature.
His works exist between "intention and chance," where the artist's brush engages in a silent dialogue with the "history" of the stone itself. The result is a series of works "deeply meaningful beyond imagery," inviting viewers to contemplate the eternal beauty spoken by the earth itself, and the boundless potential of natural materials in visual art.

"Much like Bruce Lee’s water philosophy, art is formless. Pour art onto a canvas, and it becomes a painting. Shape it into sculpture, and it takes the form of a sculpture. Transform it into installation art, and it is an installation piece. Manifest it through performance, and it becomes a performance artwork. Art, at its core, is a way of thinking—a philosophical vision."
“Thank you to my dear friend, Singaporean-Chinese curator Mr. Zhu Xuemin, as well as Singapore’s MKAU Gallery, and my sincere gratitude to all sponsors! It is your meticulous planning that made this exhibition where stones "speak" possible; it is the cross-border bridge you built that allows my shale rock paintings to shine with unique brilliance in an overseas exhibition hall, letting the oriental beauty hidden in the stone grains cross cultural boundaries and converse with the world. Finally, I sincerely wish the 2026 Singapore Art Week a complete success and even greater prosperity!”
